Hello Piano Parents!
I loved the looks of confusion this week when my students came in and saw me wearing a pirate hat! In honour of “International Talk Like A Pirate Day” (which happened on Sept 21 but we just extended it :P), we had a week of lessons that were Pirate themed! We had Pirate Sight Reading activities, Pirate Note Recognition Activities, and a Pirate Piece for one student as well! (“Pieces of 88”…..lol, get it? :P ).
I also challenged my students this week with a Pirate themed practice challenge. (see below) You may have seen a little white, square piece of paper come home in the piano things….please help your child(ren) check off a box for each practice session this week. The aim is 5 or more sessions for a PRIZE! (any less and they might have to “walk the plank” :P)
A few students received an extra pirate challenge and if you have any questions about that, please let me know.
Thank you all for a great first month! Please look for the October Newsletter coming out in the next week. It will have a lot of important information about things coming up as well as a very useful resource for parents. Thanks again for all of your support and for blessing me with your kids each week!
