December 2022 Studio Newsletter

I want to wish all of my studio families a HAPPY HOLIDAYS, a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a BLESSED NEW YEAR! May your holiday be joyous, full of happy memories and great music! Parents, thank you so much for partnering with me this past term to nurture a love for music in each of my students. Students, you ROCKED it!!! I love each one of you so much and you are making me so proud. A huge thank you to everyone who has recommended me to friends and family - my studio is growing by leaps and bounds!!

“NOEL” Piano Recital 2022

I’m so excited for my students to share what they have been working so hard on over the past few months! We will be working on performance techniques in studio in the next few weeks.

If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do. I will wait until I hear from every piano family first and then I will send a email out if there is still room if you’d like to invite additional guests (grandparents etc).

Students, to prepare for the recital, I will be sending home a “pre-recital” practice log this coming week. Try performing your recital piece for as many people as you can before Dec. 17 and bring it back on your last lesson for a treat!

Performance Tips:

1. Set your book (if you’re using one) on the piano, adjust the bench to the proper place and have a seat!

2. Take a breath, let it out, think about how the first few measures go. (a good tempo).

3. Play your piece! Do your best!

4. * if you make a mistake! Don’t worry!!! Just take a breath, find your place and keep playing!

5. At the end, hold the last note for its full value. Lift your hands up at the same time.

6. BOW and smile! YOU DID IT!!!!!
