Dear Piano Students and Piano Parents,

I just want to thank all of you for a wonderful semester! I’m so proud of what my students have worked to accomplish; they have all have come so far in many capacities and hopefully have grown their love for music as well. Students, thank you for working hard and for making our lesson times enjoyable and fun! I’m very excited to see what our next semester holds!

I had so much fun listening to my “little drummer girls/boys”! A big thumbs up to those students who preformed their “December Warm Up” for me!

For some practice fun over the holidays, each student was sent home with a “Christmas Colouring Challenge”. There are 6 easy objectives to complete and prizes will be awarded to students that bring back completed sheets at the first lesson in January (8th/9th). Please encourage your child to try these fun practice motivations! All students were also tasked with reviewing all the “old” songs in their current books; it can be very rewarding to look back at where you came from and I hope my students have fun playing the songs they already know.

Each student also completed a “Mid Year Review/Goal Setting” sheet at their last lesson. Please have a look at their answers! We will refer to this in class throughout the rest of the year to help keep us on track, making changes and additions as necessary! It’s fun to celebrate the goals that we have achieved!!

January 2019 in the Studio….

“Christmas Colouring Challenge” prizes to be awarded

Winter themed theory practice

“Snowman Improv” and “Snowboarding Improv” activities

Games, games, games! — “Busted!!” will be our first new review game!

…and more to come in 2019…

“Composing with Trash” activity

Learning to play with Lead Sheets

Scales and Triad practice

**RECORDING SESSION** at the end of March (before Spring Break!)“

Piano Party/Recital/Coffee Shop” to end off the year with a bang!

And much more!….

You will receive a draft schedule (Jan-Summer) to review at your child’s first January lesson. Please let me know as soon as possible if there is a day that you are scheduled to have lessons that you won’t be able to attend. If you ever have any questions about your child’s learning please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you again for all that you do at home to keep your child(ren) on track at home! Merry Christmas and Happy 2019!!
